So you really want to write and publish a memoir or children’s picture book in 2022?

These two categories are growing in popularity. Readers are finding the inspiration to publish books for the children in their lives and we all have a life story worth sharing.

In 2021 Goodreads has a list of 334 memoirs that were promoted on the platform including Punch Me Up to the God’s by Brian Broome, Just as I Am by Cicely Tyson, and What Doesn’t Kill You: A Life with Chronic Illness–Lessons from a Body in Revolt by Tessa Miller. Goodreads also has a list of 177 children’s picture books that included Brave in the Water by Stephanie Wildman and Brava Anjali! by Sheetal Sheth.

As The Literary Lobbyist, I have helped promote both independent and traditionally published children’s books and memoirs that have gained national media coverage and award wins. I’m excited to share these two sessions that will peel back the layers on what it requires to see your titles come to market.

In this episode of Book Banter TV, meet award-winning author Angela Shante and learn how she connected with young readers and successfully publish her debut children’s picture books.
